The fifteenth Kyiv Security Forum was held on May 25-26, 2023.

On December 1, 2022 – the 31 st anniversary of the national referendum that confirmed Ukraine’s independence, territorial integrity and the inviolability of its borders – the annual Kyiv Security Forum will be held.The main slogan of this year’s KSF is “All for Victory”. It will be a platform where prominent international and Ukrainian politicians, diplomats and experts discuss the key challenges in defending Ukraine and strengthening international solidarity against the Russian enemy.Among the Forum’s participants will be Joëlle GARRIAUD-MAYLAM, the President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly; Victoria NULAND, the United States Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs; Donald TUSK, President of the European Council in 2014-19; David CATTLER, NATO Assistant Secretary General for Intelligence and Security; David PETRAEUS and Wesley CLARK, four-star U.S. generals (retired).Kyiv Security Forum is Ukraine’s foremost platform for high-level international discussion about Ukrainian and global security issues. KSF was founded by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk “Open Ukraine” Foundation. &nbsp;

On April 10-11, 2014 Kyiv will host the 7th Kyiv Security Forum “On the Fault Line: to be Secure In–Between”. Over 400 international and Ukrainian policy leaders, representatives of political, business and civic circles from more than 20 countries of the world will discuss global security trends and challenges in current international relations. This year the main theme of the Forum will focus on recent developments in Ukraine and close to its borders, their preconditions, and possible outcomes for the country, region, Europe and even for the world at large.Ukrainian and international experts will provide a forecast for possible scenarios and their consequences as well as give expert advice with regard to ensuring stability and security in Europe and neighboring regions in the future.The Forum will focus on current security issues, particularly: new global security strategies, Crimea crises and setting new global rules, importance of international guarantees, military alliances and ensuring security for neutral countries, the EU’s position in global political fight, international mechanisms of human rights protection, Russian factor in regional conflicts, role of civic society and the media in state formation.

On February 21, the 8th Youth Kyiv Security Forum was held with many well-known participants from all over the world.This years' topic is "Old Challenges New Dynamics: Plans for the Twenties". On June 11, 2021, the Kyiv Security Forum, founded by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation, will hold its ninth annual youth meeting.This year, the Youth Kyiv Security Forum will take place on the eve of the NATO summit in Brussels, scheduled for June 14, and will be dedicated to the integration of Ukraine and the countries of our region into NATO.The large-scale meeting will bring together well-known Ukrainian and foreign politicians, diplomats, experts, as well as more than four dozen young professionals from all regions of our country and young colleagues from Georgia. On January 22, 2022, marking the Day of the Unity of Ukraine, the Kyiv Security Forum gathered politicians, intellectuals and opinion leaders for a national dialogue with a call for unity, solidarity and readiness to defend Ukraine from Russian aggression.

Donald TUSK was born on 22 April 1957 in Gdańsk, Poland. His father worked as a carpenter on the railway, his mother as a secretary at a hospital. When TUSK was 14 years old, his father died.In 1976 he started studying history at Gdańsk University, where he became involved &nbsp;in illegal activities against the Communist regime. At the time he cooperated inter alia with the underground Free Trade Unions and met the future Solidarity leader Lech Wałęsa.In 1980 Donald TUSK founded an Independent Students’ Association, NZS, which was part of the ‘Solidarity’ movement. He became the leader of ‘Solidarity’ at his place of work and a journalist on a newspaper published by ‘Solidarity’.After martial law was imposed in December 1981 by General Jaruzelski, he remained in hiding for some time. He then worked as a bread seller and later, between 1984 and 1989, he earned his living as a manual labourer specialising in work at high altitudes with the aid of climbing equipment.At the same time he was an activist in the underground Solidarity movement. After being arrested for a short time, he was set free following an amnesty for political prisoners announced by General Jaruzelski.In 1983, Donald TUSK founded an illegal monthly ‘Political Review’, propagating economic liberalism and rules of liberal democracy. An informal think-tank supporting Lech Wałęsa was centred around the periodical. After the collapse of communism, think-tank members known as ‘Gdańsk liberals’ formed a government after the first free presidential elections in Poland.Simultaneously they founded the first pro-business and pro-Europe party in Poland, the Liberal Democratic Congress, with Donald TUSK as its leader. He was also responsible for de-monopolising and privatising the former communist state-owned press concern.In the 1990s, Donald Tusk was a Member of Parliament, inter alia deputy Speaker of the Senate. In the same years he published a series of books on the history of Gdańsk, some of which turned out to be bestsellers. In 2001, Donald TUSK was one of the initiators of the new centrist party called the Civic Platform and in 2003 he became its leader.In 2007, after a tough campaign he defeated the ruling rightist party and became Prime Minister. He was in office for seven years, which made him the longest-serving Prime Minister in democratic Poland, and the first one to be re-elected. During his seven-year term, Poland continued to maintain economic growth, and in the time of crisis the Polish economy grew by almost 20%, a record performance in Europe.In 2014, Donald TUSK was elected to the position of President of the European Council and in 2017 re-elected for the second mandate of 2.5 years. His term ended on 30 November 2019.In December 2019, he published a diary “Szczerze”, based on his five-year-term as President of the European Council, which became a bestseller in Poland. On December 2019, Donald TUSK assumed office of the President of the European People’s Party.

Alexander Vershbow is an American diplomat and former Deputy Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.From 1977 to 2008, Mr. Vershbow was a career member of the United States Foreign Service. He served as U.S. Ambassador to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (1998-2001); to the Russian Federation (2001-2005); and to the Republic of Korea (2005-2008). He held numerous senior positions in Washington, including Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for European Affairs at the National Security Council (1994-97) and State Department Director for Soviet Union Affairs (1988-91).During his career, he was centrally involved in strengthening U.S. defense relations with allies in Europe and Asia and in transforming NATO and other European security organizations to meet post-Cold War challenges. He also was centrally involved in efforts to promote democracy and human rights in the former Soviet Union.Alexander Vershbow is a long-time student of Russian Affairs and international relations. He received a B.A. in Russian and East European Studies from Yale University (1974) and a Master’s Degree in International Relations and Certificate of the Russian Institute from Columbia University (1976).During his U.S. government career, Ambassador Vershbow received numerous awards including the Department of Defense’s Distinguished Civilian Service Medal (2012) the State Department’s Cordell Hull Award for Economic Achievement for his contributions to negotiations on the Korea-U.S. Free Trade Agreement (2007); the American Bar Association’s Ambassador’s Award for his advocacy of the democracy, human rights and rule of law in Russia (2004); the State Department’s Distinguished Service Award for his work as Ambassador to NATO (2001); the Department of Defense’s Joseph J. Kruzel Award for his contributions to peace in the former Yugoslavia (1997); and the Anatoly Sharansky Freedom Award of the Union of Councils of Soviet Jews for his work in advancing the cause of Jewish emigration from the USSR (1990).

Amb. Alexander VERSHBOW

Alina Inayeh joined the German Marshall Fund GMF in 2007 as the director of the Black Sea Trust for Regional Cooperation, a project dedicated to strengthening cooperation and fostering development in the Black Sea Region.She is an active practitioner in the field of international development and democratization, having run the Freedom House office in Ukraine in 2004 and the NDI office in Russia between 2000-2003, with a focus on civic education and political processes. She has trained NGOs throughout Central and Eastern Europe and the Former Soviet Union on issues related to NGO development and democratization.Mrs. Inayeh has been a leading civic activist in the 1990s in her own country, Romania, and an active promoter of the NGO sector in the country. She received her bachelor's degree in geology from the University of Bucharest and a master's in public policy from the Woodrow Wilson School, University of Princeton.She is fluent in English and Russian in addition to her native Romanian.

Alina INAYEH

Mr. Karoblis graduated from the Law Faculty, Vilnius University. He started his work as a legal consultant at the Lithuanian Free Market Institute. In 1994-1995 he was appointed the First Secretary, Foreign Trade Policy Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania. From 1995 to 1999 he served at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania as the director of different departments.In 1999-2003 Mr. Karoblis was a Minister Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Lithuania to the United Nations Office in Geneva.In 2001-2003 he was a Permanent Representative of the Republic of Lithuania to the WTO and after that, he came back to Lithuania where he continued his work as a director of Foreign Trade Policy Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania.In 2007-2010 Mr. Karoblis served as a Deputy Permanent Representative of the Republic of Lithuania to the European Union (COREPER I) and for the next five he was the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Lithuania to the European Union.In 2015-2016 Mr. Karoblis was a Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania.In December 2016 Mr. Karoblis was inaugurated as the Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Lithuania.

Raimundas KAROBLIS

Graduated from École normale supérieure, Sciences-Po Paris and École nationale d’administration (ENA), he has a Master degree in History.A former adviser to the Minister of Finance, he was an investigator at the Accounting Court and Head of Department in Strategic Planning Commission (Prime Minister’s Office). He served as head of a special mission on international issues for the French government.Mr. Tenzer had several missions for international organizations in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Algeria, Ukraine, Montenegro, Serbia, Haiti, Morocco and Jordan. He is the co-founder and now honorary chairman of Initiative for the Development of French Expertise Abroad in Europe and Worldwide (IDEFIE). He has been executive president of Aspen Institute France.Chairman of the Center for Studies and Research on Political Decision (CERAP) and the editor of the review Le Banquet, he is an associate professor at Paris School of International Affairs (PSIA, Sciences-Po), ENA and Institute for Advanced Studies on National Defence. He has been visiting a professor at foreign universities (US, Canada, Serbia, South Korea, etc.).Mr. Tenzer is the author of several books, including Political Philosophy; The World in 2030. The Rule and the Disorder; and France Needs Others. He was awarded knight of Légion d’Honneur and knight des Arts et Lettres.

Nicolas TENZER

Celeste WALLANDER is President and CEO of the U.S. Russia Foundation. She served as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Russia/Eurasia on the National Security Council (2013-2017), and as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia/Ukraine/Eurasia (2009-2012), professor at American University (2009-2013), visiting professor at Georgetown University (2006-2008), Director for Russia/Eurasia at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (2001-2006), Senior Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations (2000-2001), and professor of Government at Harvard (1989-2000).She is the author of over 80 publications on European and Eurasian security issues, focused on Russian foreign and defense strategy. She received her Ph.D. (1990), M.Phil. (1986) and M.A. (1985) degrees from Yale University, and her B.A. (1983 – summa cum laude) from Northwestern University.She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Atlantic Council of the United States, and the International Institute for Strategic Studies.

Celeste WALLANDER

Paweł Kowal – assistant professor (adjunct) in Institute of Political Studies at the Polish Academy of Sciences and at Centre for East European Studies University of Warsaw, postdoctoral fellow at the College of Europe (Natolin), political scientist, historian, columnist, expert on eastern policy, co-founder of the Museum of the Warsaw Rising in Warsaw. 2009-2014 – member of the European Parliament, Chairman of UE delegation to EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Commission and of Foreign Affairs Committee.He was a member of National Security Council, 2005-2009 – member of Parliament (Sejm), 2006-2007 – Secretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Author of numerous publications on the transformation processes in Central Europe. Editor-in-chief of “Warsaw East European Review” and Studia Miedzynarodowe. He is a member of the editorial board of the bi-monthly “New Eastern Europe” and member of the board of Platform of European Memory and Conscience and the Board of the Jan Nowak-Jeziorański’s College of Eastern Europe (Kolegium Europy Wschodniej) in Wroclaw.

Steven Pifer is a nonresident senior fellow with the Brookings Institution, where he spent nine years as a resident scholar focusing on arms control, Ukraine and Russia.A retired Foreign Service officer, his more than 25 years with the State Department included assignments as deputy assistant secretary of state with responsibilities for Russia and Ukraine, U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, and special assistant to the president and senior director for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia on the National Security Council. He also served in Warsaw, Geneva, Moscow and London.

In August 2017, Dan Neculăescu was appointed as the State Secretary for Regional Affairs and Multilateral Global Affairs in the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.A career diplomat with the rank of Minister-Counselor, Dan Neculăescu joined the Romanian MFA in 2002, fulfilling responsibilities in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in the diplomatic service abroad.Most recently, he held important positions such as State Secretary for Strategic Affairs in the Romanian MFA and State Counselor for Foreign Affairs of the Romanian Prime Minister.

Amb. Dănuţ-Sebastian NECULĂESCU

Since September 2016 – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Ukraine.Since May 2005 he was director of PAUCI (Poland America Ukraine Cooperation Initiative then transformed to the Polish-Ukrainian Cooperation Foundation) which managed the trans-border projects in Ukraine, Moldova, Armenia and Georgia. Till May 2005 he worked as a program director for ZNAK Foundation in Krakow, supervising international programs and heading the Bridges to the East Institute.As a journalist, he covered the Romanian Revolution and conflict in the former Yugoslavia. He worked for the Polish and international media. As a conflict resolution journalism trainer, regional security expert and media consultant he co-operated with the European Journalism Centre, Rutgers University of New Jersey, MU Columbia School of Journalism, Jagiellonian University of Krakow, IREX Pro Media, Groeningen University and other institutions. Till the end of 1990 he was an editor of “Tygodnik Powszechny”, a leading weekly of the Polish anti-Communist opposition. From 1982 to 1988 he contributed to the printed in conspiracy clandestine Solidarity publications. Until December 13, 1981, he was with “Gazeta Krakowska”, a Krakow daily, working as an editor at the news deskApril 1992 – completed the East Central European Media Development Project coordinated by the School of Journalism and the Center for the International Programs and Studies of University of Missouri in Columbia, USA;September 1991 – completed the Advanced International Program "Journalism and Democracy" at the Department of Further Education of Journalists, FOJO, University College of Kalmar and the Department of Journalism, Media and Communication, Stockholm University;March - September 1990 - completed a six-month career-development course in English language journalism, administered by the Center for the Foreign Journalists in Reston, Virginia, USA;1972-1977 – studied history of Polish language and literature at Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland, received MA from Polish philology and literature.

Later known as “Reznikov, Vlasenko and Partners”, hereinafter referred to as “Magisters” (as a result of merge with the law firm “Magister and Partners”).In 2011-2014, he was a Head of Litigation Practice at the “Egorov, Puginsky, Afanasiev and Partners” (as a result of merge with the law firm “Magister and Partners”). He was also an attorney and partner at “Magisters”.In 2008-2014, he was Deputy of Kyiv City Council VII convocation.Since June 2014, he has been Deputy of Kyiv City Council VII convocation, elected Deputy Secretary of the Kyiv City Council.Since 2015:- Head of the Ukrainian National delegation to the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe in 2015-2016.- Deputy Chairman of the Mayor of the Anti-Corruption Council;- Board Member of the “Let's Do It Together” social project;- Member of the Reformation Team for the Decentralization, Local Government and Regional Policy of the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction, and Communal Services of Ukraine;- Advisor to the Kyiv City Mayor.&nbsp;From April 2016 to September 2018:- Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration on the exercise of self-governing powers: exercising the powers of the Kyiv City State Administration on the implementation of state policy in the areas of local self-government, domestic policy, international relations, tourism, advertising, protection of cultural heritage, education, culture, social protection, youth and sports, responsible for the implementation of reforms in the areas of decentralization, local government and other areas of life of the city of Kyiv, etc.In 2017 he was responsible for organizing and conducting of the “Eurovision” Song Contest in Kyiv from the Kyiv City State Administration.In 2018 he was responsible for the organization and conduct of the final match of the UEFA Champions League 2017/2018 season from the Kyiv City State Administration.From November 2018, he renewed his legal practice as a partner at the “Asters” Law Firm". &nbsp;He specializes in alternative dispute resolution, including: expert opinions, negotiation, facilitation, conciliation, mediation, fact-finding, preliminary independent assessment, pre-trial dispute resolution sessions and preparation of settlement agreements.In 2005 and in 2019 he was a member of the Supervisory Board of the “State Savings Bank of Ukraine” (JSC Oschadbank).Since September 2019 he represents Ukraine in the working subgroup on political issues of the Trilateral Contact Group.From March 2020 to November 2021 he was appointed as Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.On 3 November 2021 the Verkhovna Rada dismissed him as Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, and subsequently appointed him Minister of Defence.

Ambassador John E. HERBST is the director of the Atlantic Council’s Eurasia Center. Ambassador HERBST served for thirty-one years as a Foreign Service officer in the US Department of State, retiring with the rank of career-minister.He was the US ambassador to Ukraine (2003-2006). Prior to his ambassadorship in Ukraine, he was the ambassador to Uzbekistan (2000-2003). In his last four years at the State Department, he served as the coordinator for reconstruction and stabilization, leading the US government’s civilian capacity in societies in transition from conflict or civil strife, and to provide support to countries at risk of instability. Ambassador HERBST previously served as US consul general in Jerusalem; principal deputy to the ambassador-at-large for the Newly Independent States; the director of the Office of Independent States and Commonwealth Affairs; director of regional affairs in the Near East Bureau; and at the embassies in Tel Aviv, Moscow, and Saudi Arabia. Regularly invited to the media to comment political processes and international relations.He takes an active part in public discussion of bills on occupied territories. One of the initiators of the civil campaign "No - changes to the Constitution during a martial law!" (In the summer of 2015, on the eve of the adoption in the 1st reading of the constitutional amendments concerning the "special status of the Donbas", the relevant petition to the authorities was signed by dozens of well-known Ukrainians). One of the founders of the Civil Initiative "Close the Kremlin`s Bazoo" which opposes the hidden Russian media on the territory of Ukraine. Co-founder of the non-profit organization "Institute for Actual Research", which primarily deals with the public initiative "Protection of Migrant Workers".

Mykhailo BASARAB

He is Senior Fellow &amp; Director of the Russia Program at the Center for European Policy Analysis. Before joining CEPA he was Senior Russia Analyst at Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. He also worked as a foreign correspondent for The Boston Globe in Moscow and Prague; as a graduate instructor in the Department of Government and International Studies at the University of South Carolina; and as a visiting lecturer in the History Faculty at Mechnikov National University in Odessa, Ukraine and the International Relations Faculty at St. Petersburg State University.

Ms. Maronkova became the Director of the NATO Information and Documentation Center in Ukraine in March, 2017.Previously she worked at the NATO’s Public Diplomacy Division in Brussels, Belgium as program coordinator to oversee projects that aim to raise awareness and promote NATO in a number of NATO member states.As of September 2010, she works as program manager and is responsible for designing, planning and implementing public diplomacy campaigns in the Western Balkans. She actively works on NATO’s Partnerships and Open door policies. Over the course of his parliamentary career, he has chaired the House of Commons' Standing Committees for Agriculture and Agri-Food (2007-2008); Environment (2008-2011); and National Defence (2011-2013). &nbsp;Bezan served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of National Defence from 2013-2015, and was active on files dealing with military procurement, mental health in the armed forces, the war against ISIS, and Russia's aggression in Ukraine. &nbsp;Bezan currently serves in the Official Opposition Shadow Cabinet as the Official Opposition Shadow Minister for National Defence, and is Vice-Chair of the House of Commons Standing Committee on National Defence.Bezan has been very outspoken on the issue of Ukrainian sovereignty, democracy and human rights, and as a result, was one of thirteen Canadian officials sanctioned by the Russian government in 2014. &nbsp;For his work on Ukrainian issues he has been recognized with numerous awards both in Canada and abroad, including the ‘Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise’ (Ukraine’s highest civilian award) for his 2008 private members’ bill to recognize the Holomodor as genocide. Bezan recently sponsored Bill S-226, the Justice for Victims of Corrupt Foreign Officials Act (Sergei Magnitsky Law) in the House of Commons. The Bill received unanimous support and was passed into law on October 18, 2017.

Francis FUKUYAMA is an American political scientist, political economist, and writer. FUKUYAMA is known for his book The End of History and the Last Man (1992), which argues that the worldwide spread of liberal democracies and free-market capitalism of the West and its lifestyle may signal the end point of humanity's sociocultural evolution and become the final form of human government. However, his subsequent book Trust: Social Virtues and Creation of Prosperity (1995) modified his earlier position to acknowledge that culture cannot be cleanly separated from economics. Fukuyama is also associated with the rise of the neoconservative movement, from which he has since distanced himself.FUKUYAMA has been a senior fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies since July 2010 and a Mosbacher Director of the Center on Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law at Stanford University. In August 2019, he was named director of the Ford Dorsey Master's in International Policy at Stanford.Before that, he served as a professor and director of the International Development program at the School of Advanced International Studies of Johns Hopkins University. Previously, he was Omer L. and Nancy Hirst Professor of Public Policy at the School of Public Policy at George Mason University.He is a council member of the International Forum for Democratic Studies founded by the National Endowment for Democracy and was a member of the Political Science Department of the RAND Corporation. He is also one of the 25 leading figures on the Information and Democracy Commission launched by Reporters Without Borders.

Mykola Kniazhytskyi is a Ukrainian journalist, member of Ukrainian Parliament, and the head of the Committee of Cultural and Spirituality. In 1992, he earned a journalism degree from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. In 2003, he earned a postgraduate degree from the faculty of international law and business from the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.In the past, Mykola Kniazhytskyi was the head of the Tonis Media Company and TV channels as well as STB, UT-1, Hazeta 24, and TVi. James Sherr is an Associate Fellow of Chatham House and former head, between 2008 and 2011, of the Russia and Eurasia programme. He was a member of the Social Studies Faculty of Oxford University from 1993 to 2012, a fellow of the Conflict Studies Research Centre of the UK Ministry of Defence from 1995 to 2008 and Director of Studies of the Royal United Services Institute (1983-1985) He is also a Visiting Fellow of the Razumkov Centre, Kyiv, a Senior Associate Fellow of the Institute of Statecraft and a former GMF Bosch Fellow at the Transatlantic Academy, Washington.For twenty-five years, James Sherr has advised governments in the UK, NATO, the EU about developments in Russia and Ukraine, has worked closely with Ukraine on defence and security sector reform and over the past ten years has participated regularly in Baltic security forums. Oleksandr Turchynov is a Ukrainian politician, writer and economist. He is the current Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine.Mr. Turchynov is a former acting President of Ukraine from the removal from power of President Viktor Yanukovych on 21 February 2014 until Petro Poroshenko was sworn in as Ukrainian President on 7 June 2014. He then became Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament until 27 November 2014. Mr. Turchynov also served as acting Prime Minister in 2010.He graduated from the Dnipropetrovsk Metallurgical Institute in 1986, after which he worked at Kryvorizhstal, a large Ukrainian steel producer. From 1987 to 1990, he served as head of the agitation and propaganda division of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Committee. In 1993 Mr. Turchynov was appointed an advisor on economic issues to Prime Minister.In 1998, he was elected to parliament. He was also re-elected to parliament in 2002, 2006, 2012 and 2014.On 4 February 2005, Mr.Turchynov was appointed and served as the first‐ever civilian head of the Security Service of Ukraine.On 4 March 2010 Oleksandr Turchynov was empowered to fulfill the Prime Minister's duties until a new government was formed.On 22 February 2014, he was elected as speaker of Verkhovna Rada. On 23 February 2014, Oleksandr &nbsp;Turchynov was designated as acting President of Ukraine following the impeachment of Viktor Yanukovych. On 25 February Turchynov assumed the (Presidential power of) command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.On 10 September 2014, he became founding member the new party People's Front.On 16 December 2014, President Poroshenko appointed Turchynov as Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine.
