This spring, we started the online discussions of the Kyiv Security Forum. Our anti-crisis discussions focused on the main problems of Ukraine's domestic and foreign policy, countering Russia's aggression, economic situation and energy security, and combating anti-Western propaganda.
Nearly seven dozen speakers, including well-known Ukrainian and foreign politicians, diplomats, philosophers, journalists and experts, shared assessments and recommendations on how to act in Ukraine and the international community during the crisis.
Our weekly discussions became part of the global debate on the world's most important peace and security issues.
Our team was represented by Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Chairman of the Kyiv Security Forum, Prime Minister of Ukraine in 2014-16 and Danylo Lubkivsky, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine in 2014, member of the Supervisory Council of Open Ukraine Foundation.
We express our gratitude for cooperation cooperation with many like-minded people and partners, first of all with the Atlantic Council (United States), the Royal Institute of International Affairs "Chatham House" (Great Britain), the Warsaw Security Forum and the Riga Security Conference, Euromaidan Press, UkraineWorld, OnePhilosophy Group, Ukraine Crisis Media Center, Razumkov Centre.
The following prominent international figures took part in our discussion: Vaira Vīķe-Freiberga, sixth President of the Republic of Latvia and Vytautas Landsbergis, first Chairman of the Independent Sejmas of Lithuania; Carl Bildt, former Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden and Linas Linkevičius, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania; Vice Chairs of the Delegation to the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Association Committee Viola Von Cramon-Taubadel and Petras Auštrevičius; Marcy Kaptur, the member of the US House of Representatives and Victoria Nuland, former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State; Michael Carpenter, foreign policy advisor to Vice President Joe Biden and Celeste Wallander, Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Russia/Eurasia on the National Security Council (2013-2017); Ambassadors of the United States of America Daniel Fried, John Herbst, Steven Pifer, William Taylor and Kurt Volker; German politicians Omid Nouripour and Nico Lange, as well as many other partners from Europe and the United States.
Our guests were Borys Gudziak, Metropolitan and Archeparch of the Ukrainian Catholic Archeparchy of Philadelphia; journalists Anne Applebaum and Vitaly Portnikov; philosophers Myroslav Marynovych, Peter Pomerantsev and Volodymyr Yermolenko; experts and strategists Orysia Lutsevych, Nataliya Popovych and Alya Shandra and many other colleagues and friends.
Ukrainian government officials and politicians took part in the discussions: Oleksii Reznikov, Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories and Serhiy Marchenko, Minister of Finance of Ukraine; Oleksandr Turchynov, speaker of Verkhovna Rada, acting President of Ukraine (2014), Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine (2014-2019) and Ivannna Klympush-Tsintsadze, Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Integration of Ukraine to the EU; Ostap Semerak, former Cochair of Ukraine-EU Association Parliamentary assembly and Lilia Hrynevych, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine in 2016-2019.
