Arseniy Yatsenyuk During KSF Discussion: There is a Danger That Anti-Ukrainian Coalitions Will Be Formed in Local Authorities as a Result of Local Elections
Russian mass propaganda will have incredible consequences for Ukraine, including in local elections, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Chairman of the Kyiv Security Forum, Prime Minister of Ukraine in 2014-16 stated during the KSF discussion on July 3.
He stressed that Putin owns half of the news channels in Ukraine: "The country is full of propagandists, traitors and false prophets who fool the people every day and, receiving money from our enemy, the Russian Federation, actually form a fifth column inside Ukraine."
Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed that he "sees no opportunity for today's ruling party to win local elections." "But I see that as a result of local elections, anti-Ukrainian coalitions will be formed in local authorities. And in fact, everyone will forget about local elections and decentralization, and will start thinking exclusively with ideological stereotypes," he stressed.
"Russia will invest a lot in the issue of federalization of Ukraine, not decentralization. And the question of language will rise again, the question of religion will rise again in the Russian interpretation. In doing so, they will further split the Ukrainian state and Ukrainian society," Chairman of the KSF underlined.
At the same time, despite the fact that "the picture is not the best, the realities of Ukraine and the history of Ukraine show that we have always had incredible challenges, they always wanted to destroy Ukraine and Ukrainians, but we always survived."
Kyiv Security Forum is Ukraine’s foremost platform for high-level international discussion about peace and security. Kyiv Security Forum was founded by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation in 2007.
