Bogdan Klich: Euro-Atlantic security will not be achieved until independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine are ensured

14 April 2016, 22:07

“Euro-Atlantic security will not be achieved until independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine are ensured,” – stressed Bogdan Klich, the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Poland (2007 – 2011), summing up the first day of the 9th Kyiv Security Forum, organized by Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation.

“Summing up everything said today in the frameworks of the Forum, I would like to emphasize once again that today the Euro-Atlantic security is not possible without ensuring the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine, that are its important components,” – said B. Klich.

At the same time, he supported the opinion which was repeatedly expressed at the Forum today, the need to maintain sanctions against Russia.

“Given the aggressive foreign policy of Russia, which today continues militarization and escalating, the sanctions against it should be saved,” – said the Polish official.

He also noted, that despite the current probability of renewal of cooperation between NATO and Russia, this issue should be observed with caution.
