James Sherr: Ukraine has no proper information strategy

14 April 2016, 21:31

“Ukraine does not have a proper information strategy. The only people who know oats in this issue are the people who came from the Maidan,” – said James Sherr, Associate Fellow, Chatham House (UK), during the 9th Kyiv Security Forum, organized by Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation.

He stressed that the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine should have played a significant role in the informational propaganda, but due the outdated system of the agency’s work organization, diplomats cannot handle it. “Foreign Minister does not understand the essence of this (information - ed.) war,” – considers the scientist.

At the same time, James Sherr admitted the success of Russia in conducting propaganda. “The Dutch referendum, in my view, is the greatest victory in the information war after the annexation of the Crimea,” – he said.
