Alina Inayeh: KSF is important because of the respect for civil society and NGOs

14 April 2016, 13:41

“I am honored to deliver a speech at the Kyiv Security Forum, and to assist once more in the financing of this event. Today the Forum is very important because of the respect for civil society and NGOs,” – said Alina Inayeh, the Director of The Black Sea Trust for Regional Cooperation, at the opening of the 9th Kyiv Security Forum, organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation.

"The first fora took place 9 years ago when much interest for this region was shown and the Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine was only a matter of time. At that time, European soft power brought results. But it was till the events of 2008 and 2013. Today, Europe is vulnerable as never before, and the United States are experiencing hard times. The region is more vulnerable to various threats and challenges, with the burning Middle East in its South,” – said A. Inayeh.

“Today, within the framework of the Forum, we all need to estimate all the challenges and risks that are produced by the security situation in the world. I hope that the times when we will not have to conduct such a Forum where we must discuss difficult issues concerning Ukrainian and European security will come,” – said the Romanian expert.
