Viktor YELENSKY

Member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine

Viktor Yelensky is a Ukrainian scientist, religious scholar, publicist, teacher, and doctor of philosophical sciences. Member of Ukrainian Parliament. Born on March 26, 1957 in the city of Chadan, Tuva, where his parents worked — graduate of the Kiev universities. That same year, his family returned to Kyiv. He graduated from high school number 85 in the city of Kiev.

In 1975-1977, he was in enlisted military service.

In 1986, he participated in the liquidation of the Chernobyl accident; worked in a particularly dangerous zone as a part of special battalion 731.

In 2018, he was awarded an Order of Merits in the III degree on the occasion of the 27th Independence Day of Ukraine.
