Henning Tillmann is a self-employed full-stack software developer and member of the Committee for Media and Internet related policies of the SPD party executive since 2010. He is a board member of the German think tank D64 – Center for Digital Progress. In 2018, Tillmann was a member of the SPD negotiations committee for the coalition talks with CDU/CSU resulting in forming the new federal government. In 2015, Henning Tillmann started a campaign against a new federal data retention law, that forced telecommunication and Internet service providers to store meta data for up to several months. Henning Tillmann studied Computer Science in Dortmund and Berlin and did research in the area of Browser Fingerprinting – a technique that allows the tracking of Internet users.
