Ostap Semerak is the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine. He has taken over the Ministry with the ultimate responsibility for shaping and implementing the national environmental policy to ensure its most efficient integration into the life of society and economy.
Professional experience. Ostap Semerak was a Member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and represents the People´s Front faction (2014-2016). At that time he was the First Deputy Chairman of Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on European Integration. Since February 2015 till april 2016 he was elected as Co-chair of the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Association Committee.
He also held the office of the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (2014).
Other capacities are as follows: Ukrainian Reform Support Foundation, Project Manager (2013-2014), Member of the Ukrainian Parliament (2007-2012), Kyiv Regional State Administration, Deputy Head (2006-2007).
Ostap holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, Master’s Degree in Political Science from ‘Kyiv-Mohyla Academy’ National University as well as the Master’ in Physics from Ivan Franko Lviv National University.
