Carl BILDT

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden

Mr. Carl Bildt is Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden since 2006.

Political appointments of Mr. Bildt were the following: during 1991-1994 Mr. Bildt was Prime Minister, in 1992-1999 - Chair of the International Democrat Union (IDU), in 1986-1999 - Party leader of the Moderate Party, in 1979-2001 - Member of the Riksdag, in 1979-1981 - State Secretary in the Cabinet Office, Coordination, Secretariat. Also in 1976-1978 Mr. Bildt was Special Adviser for coordination functions in the Government. In 1973-1974 he was Chair of the Free Moderate Student League.

Besides Carl Bildt was UN Secretary-General, Section 1s - Special Envoy for the Balkans during 1999-2001. In 1996-1997 he was The High Representative of the International Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina for recon struction and the peace implementation process. 1995-1997 The European UnionSection 1s Special Representative for Former Yugoslavia 1995, Co-Chair of the Dayton Peace Talks on Former Yugoslavia, Adviser to the European Space Agency (ESA), Adviser to the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), Member of the International Balkan Commission.

Also Mr. Bildt obtained the positions of Former Member of the Board of the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London, Former Member of the Board of the European Policy Centre in Brussels, Former Member of the Board of the Centre for European Reform in London.
