Ambassador Paul Jones: The more we can explain the importance of Ukraine and its significance to the US, the better
08.05.25

The White House should be better informed about the importance of Ukraine and its significance for the Western world, and Poland can undertake to become such a communication channel.

This message was emphasized Ambassador Paul Jones, Distinguished Fellow, Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA), US Ambassador to Poland (2015-2018) at the 17th Annual Kyiv Security Forum “UA: UNITE AGAIN TO DEFEAT THE GLOBAL AGGRESSOR”, organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Foundation “Open Ukraine”.

I would not like us get confused by certain rhetoric from Washington. The more we can explain Ukraine, its importance, its significance to the West, to the US, the better,” he said.

Describing Poland’s role in this effort, the Ambassador stressed that Warsaw is a serious player in relations with Washington, and “this relationship goes beyond US policy.” In addition, Poland plays a prominent role in communicating and representing threats to NATO’s Eastern Flank, to Ukraine, to the US.

I think this is a special responsibility that Poland has, because the relationship between Washington and Warsaw is very unique. Poland gets feedback from different political spectrums in the US, including the most conservative ones,” the Ambassador explained.

The Kyiv Security Forum, organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk “Open Ukraine” foundation, is the main platform in Ukraine to discuss problems of war and peace, national and world security.
