If Trump were to be re-elected, I am not optimistic what that would bring Ukraine, — Evelyn Farkas
22.03.24

Donald Trump as a Presidential Candidate has already clearly stated his wish to block assistance to Ukraine. If he becomes the president – there is no positive prospect for Ukraine to expect the US assistance.

This was the message by Dr. Evelyn Farkas, Executive Director of McCain Institute at ASU at the 16th Annual Kyiv Security Forum established by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk “Open Ukraine” Foundation.

“If Trump gets re-elected, even though it is not too certain, I am not optimistic what that would bring to Ukraine. We do have some institutional procedures, traditions, checks and balances system, but all these may not be enough”, she believes.

Executive Director of McCain Institute also argued that Mr. Trump seriously intended to remove the US from NATO and quite possibly would try to do this again.

The 16th Annual Kyiv Security Forum is held March 21-22, 2024, to gather transatlantic support for Ukraine. This year Forum slogan is “Ukraine’s call to the World: Together We Prevail!”.
