Volodymyr Groysman: putin is a mad dictator who has crossed all imaginable red lines
21.03.24

russian dictator volodymyr putin must be defeated in Ukraine, and he can only be stopped by force.

This was the message by Volodymyr Groysman, Speaker of Ukrainian Parliament in 2014-16 at the 16th Annual Kyiv Security Forum established by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk “Open Ukraine” Foundation.

“Whom are we dealing with? We are dealing with a mad dictator-killer who has trespassed all imaginable red lines”, - Volodymyr Groysman stressed.

According to him, when people say that putin attached Ukraine one should amend the phrase to say “putin faltered in Ukraine when he attacked the whole democratic world”.

“He was stopped by Ukrainian warriors, Ukrainian citizens, and all our people, many of whom dying a heroic death”, - former Speaker of Ukrainian Parliament said.

Volodymyr Groysman stressed that “it would be a romantic way of thinking about the mad dictator” if one argued that putin had attacked Ukraine solely for the purpose of invading it alone.

Mr. Groysman reminded the audience about putin’s demand to the NATO to withdraw to the 1997 borderline.

“This means minus Poland, the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic, Romania, Bulgaria, and all Baltic states. This also means that he has a plan for the step two, and three as well”, – Mr. Groysman stressed.

He also emphasized the need to defeat putin, to detroy his military potential and economy, the latter feeding his army and allowing him to continue waging his war.

“One thing is needed. This is very specific decisions by our international partners”, - he underlined.

Mr. Groysman also thanked the US, the EU and other partners for the delivered assistance and called to build-up its volumes and speed up the deliveries’ timeframe.

The 16th Annual Kyiv Security Forum is held March 21-22, 2024, to gather transatlantic support for Ukraine. This year Forum slogan is “Ukraine’s call to the World: Together We Prevail!”.
