Senior Sergeanr Valerii Yarylo Horyshnii, First Corps Azov of the National Guard of Ukraine, who was held in Russian captivity for 2,5 years summoned the whole world to resolute action and maximum effort to free Ukrainian defenders.
This was his appeal at the 17 th Annual Kyiv Security Forum “UA: UNITE AGAIN TO DEFEAT THE GLOBAL AGGRESSOR”, ORGANIZED BY THE Arseniy Yatsenyuk Foundation “Open Ukraine”.

“In Mariupol, for 86 days we continued fighting despite being fully enveloped, without munitions, food or water. But we remained steadfast and decisive. On behalf of our brigade, of our corps I’d like to call on the world to be decisive. Be resolute towards Ukraine the way we were. We need more weapons, more unmanned systems”, - Valerii Horyshnii emphasized.
He also mentioned that “some may fear psychopaths in Kremlin”, but Ukrainian defenders remained brave in Mariupol as they remain brave across the whole frontline.
“There is one thing I’d like you to ask you. Please do your utmost and perhaps beyond to free our girls and boys from captivity. Daily, they suffer, they die. Conditions there are most awful, our defenders are beaten and tortured constantly,”- he stressed.
The Kyiv Security Forum, organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk's Open Ukraine Foundation, is the main platform in this country for discussing issues of war and peace, national and global security.
