Historically, Poland has no other choice than to support Ukraine and stand with Ukrainians – Mykola Knyazhytskyi
09.05.25

It is in Poland’s utmost interests, more than anyone else, to ensure that Ukrainians stand firm in the battle against the Russian Federation, because the Russians can attack the Poles.

This was the message of Mykola Knyazhytskyi, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine MP at the 17th Annual Kyiv Security Forum “UA: LET'S UNITE AGAIN TO DEFEAT THE GLOBAL AGGRESSOR”, organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Foundation “Open Ukraine”.

“Poland is more than anyone else  interested to ascertain that we brace ourseves against our adversary, as we do realize that Poland will most likely be the next oen to be attacked. Medvedev and Putin explicitly say this. They talk about Poland, in the same vein they do about Ukraine, that it is allegedly an unexisting country. Therefore, historically, Poland has no other choice now than to support Ukraine and stand with Ukraine,” he said.

According to Mykola Kniazhytskyi, the Russian Federation “will fiddle” supporting far-right and Eurosceptic movements. At the same time, the MP expressed his opinion that the Polish government understands the need to support Ukraine.

There are no greater allies of Ukraine today than Prime Minister Donald Tusk or Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski or indeed other Polish politicians who are the first to respond to anti-Ukrainian statements and defend Ukraine’s position on the world’s arena. Therefore, I do not see a major threat of anti-Ukrainian sentiment in Poland, except for certain far-right forces supported by the Russian Federation,” the MP emphasized.

The Kyiv Security Forum, organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk “Open Ukraine” foundation, is the main platform in this country to discuss problems of war and peace, national and world security.
