Sweden will Continue Supporting Ukraine – Michael Claesson, Chief of Defence of Sweden
08.05.25

Swedish authorities continue their unwavering support of Ukraine fighting against Russian aggression. The scope of such support is the very testimony thereof.

This was the key message voiced by Michael Claesson, Chief of Defence of Sweden, at the 17th Annual Kyiv Security Forum “UA: UNITE AGAIN TO DEFEAT THE GLOBAL AGGRESSOR”, organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk “Open Ukraine” Foundation.

“As you all are well aware, we remain steadfast in our support of Ukraine. The best confirmation thereof is multiple assistance packages approved by the Swedish Government. The most recent one is the largest military assistance package that Sweden has delivered to Ukraine today. The total amount of Swedish military support to Ukraine currently amounts to around 6,4 billion euros”, - he stated.
The Chief of Defence also reminded the audience that the Swedish Government has clearly stated its readiness to support Ukraine for as long as it takes.

“This is not only morally correct, this is also right as Ukrainian front serves the first line of our freedom defences as well.  We are totally and completely steadfast in our support of Ukraine. Ukraine must prevail in this war that Russia unleashed, and by prevailing a just and enduring peace can be attained”, - General Claesson emphasized.

The Kyiv Security Forum, organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk “Open Ukraine” Foundation is the main platform in Ukraine to discuss issues of war and peace, national and global security.
