Admiral Rob Bauer, Chair of the NATO Military Committee (2021-2025), empahsized the need for continued support of Ukraine and marked extensive losses that the Russian Federation exchanged “for very minute victories.”
He quoted the above statistics at the 17th Annual Kyiv Security Forum “UA: UNITE AGAIN TO DEFEAT THE GLOBAL AGGRESSOR,” organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Foundation “Open Ukraine.”
“Russia has already lost over 700,000 of its people wounded and killed, but failed to achieve any of its strategic goals. Without the Chinese support o and that of other autocracies, Russia would never have been able to continue this war. President Xi appearing at the Red Square parade tomorrow, is the very proof that evil forces unite. They are scared by the might the Allied members demonstrate,” Admiral Bauer emphasized.

He also noted that Russia is swiftly switching to “wartime footing”,” while simultaneously incurring “heavy losses for tiny victories.”
“Ukraine, despite the issue with personnel, is capably defending its positions,” the Admiral said, adding that “we eye-witness what the 3-day pleasure cruise of Kremlin’s dreams has actually become.”
“I despite that despite our different viewpoints, we must agree on the most important: we cannot accept any country seizing the lands of another. We cannot concent to this being a new normal. This is contrary to our vision and beliefs, and we shall never adopt this attitude. This is our unwavering standing for the past three years,” he noted.
Admiral Bauer emphasized the necessity of continued support to Ukraine to ensure that a just peace is achieved.
“It is exactly where the whole problem began. Russia carried out a full-scale invasion, but the actual invasion began in 2014, and rolled over into 2022. Now, we need to ensure a just peace for Ukraine, and to do so we need to continue supporting Ukraine so that is enjoys the most beneficial and strong position in any negotiations when they commence,” the Admiral emphasized.
The Kyiv Security Forum, organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk “Open Ukraine” foundation, is the main platform in Ukraine to discuss issues of war and peace, national and global security.
