Russia has not achieved any of its strategic goals in the war against Ukraine, and now the Kremlin is in the worst situation than early in the invasion.
This opinion was expressed by Valerii Pekar, Adjunct Professor of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and the Ukrainian Catholic University Business Schools, Chairman of the “Decolonization” NGO at the 17th Annual Kyiv Security Forum “UA: UNITE AGAIN TO DEFEAT THE GLOBAL AGGRESSOR”, organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Foundation “Open Ukraine”.
According to the Academician, the Kremlin’s current calls for “denazification” and “demilitarization” of Ukraine, present an attempt to bring back Russia’s influence upon politics, religion and culture.

“Denazification is about Kremlin agents’ penetrating Ukrainian society once again. Demilitarization is about disarming Ukraine. Both are unacceptable to us,” Valerii Pekar said.
According to him, Putin has failed to attain any major goals in three years of war: he has not occupied Kyiv or any strategically important regions, neither has he defeated the Ukrainian army or polarized Ukrainian society.
“Today, Putin is much further from his strategic goals than in early 2022. Still, he is not ready for negotiations, as he has oil, money, some more weapons, and human resources,” the scientist noted.
The Kyiv Security Forum, organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk’s Open Ukraine Foundation, is the main platform in Ukraine to discuss issues of war and peace, national and global security.
