At the 18th annual Kyiv Security Forum, which focused on the theme “Darkness or Dawn: Is There Light Ahead?”, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex and founder of the Invictus Games Foundation, emphasized that Ukraine is fighting for the values and principles upon which democracy is based. He added that Ukraine is on the front lines of modern warfare and is developing cutting-edge drones and building a flexible military.

Prince Harry said that this is his third visit to Kyiv and that he has a clear sense of what truly matters.

“I am here not as a politician, but as a soldier who understands military service, as a humanitarian who sees the human cost of conflict, and as a friend of Ukraine who believes that the world must not forget this war or ignore its consequences,” he noted.

Prince Harry emphasized that the war in Ukraine is not just a war for its territories.

"It is a war for values, for sovereignty, and for whether the principles upon which our democracy is founded will be upheld," he explained.

The Duke of Sussex expressed confidence that Ukraine has been on the front lines of a struggle for more than just independence since 2014.

“You stand firm, you fight, and you lead the way… In unity, resilience, and innovation… Ukraine is on the front lines of modern warfare, developing the world’s most advanced drones, adapting, and building a flexible Armed Forces,” Prince Harry said.

According to him, this demonstrates not only resilience but also real-time leadership.
"Strength lies not only in courage and military might but also in unity, trust, and the willingness to bear this burden together. This is what strength looks like,” the Duke of Sussex concluded.

Kyiv Security Forum (KSF) is an annual international event launched in 2007 on the initiative of Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation.
