Linas Linkevičius, Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Sweden, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania (2012-20) summoned the audience to explain the truth to the world and combat disinformation campaigns of Russia as they attempt at “stealing history” from Ukraine.

He emphasized this idea at the 17th Annual Kyiv Security Forum “UA: UNITE AGAIN TO DEFEAT THE GLOBAL AGGRESSOR”, organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Foundation “Open Ukraine”.

“I am very proud to be in Kyiv on May 8. To be here in Ukraine on the 80th anniversary of the VE Day. Ukraine paid the highest price per capita to attain this victory. And some people are stealing this history from you, and doing so attempt to present themselves as sole winners. While indeed they behave like Nazis who deny Ukrainians the very right to exist,” he emphasized.

The Ambassador noted that the Lithuanians are also trying to resist, and do their utmost to convince others and tell the truth.

“We must explain to the whole world what the truth is. Unlearned history, as you know, repeats itself,” he emphasized.

The Kyiv Security Forum, organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk “Open Ukraine” foundation, is the main platform in Ukraine to discuss issues of war and peace, national and global security.
