The Russian Federation is developing new solutions to counter Ukraine’s innovative technologies, so Ukraine must devise its innovative responses in order keep its technological advantage.
This was highlighted by Dr. Jack Watling, Senior Research Fellow for Land Warfare. the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), at the 17th Annual Kyiv Security Forum “UA: UNITE AGAIN TO DEFEAT THE GLOBAL AGGRESSOR”, organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Foundation “Open Ukraine”.
“The Russians have grasped Ukraine possesses novelty technologies to destroy them, so they try to develop new solutions to backlash. If we don’t present something new in no time, then Ukraine will lose this advantage,” Dr. Watling argued.

According to him, the Ukrainian military is adapting well, but concepts and assumptions also have to adapt. “Therefore, the question arises: what is the sector that Ukraine’s partners should invest in first and foremost,” he noted.
In particular, as the Senior Research Fellow emphasized, investment in explosives is currently being curtailed. “The Russians understand that there is a gap there, just as there are gaps in chips and microcircuits,” added Jack Watling.
The Kyiv Security Forum, organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk “Open Ukraine” foundation, is the main platform in Ukraine to discuss issues of war and peace, national and global security.
