Polish-Ukrainian border crisis will be resolved immediately after local elections, - Polish media editor-in-chief
21.03.24

The crisis unfolding at the Ukrainian-Polish border will be resolved right after local elections.

This was emphasized by Sławomir Sierakowski, editor-in-chief of Krytyka Polityczna (Poland) at the 16th Annual Kyiv Security Forum established by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk “Open UKraine” Foundation.

According to him, current Polish authorities are the most pro-Ukrainian ones in history.

“Donald Tusk addressed the Ukrainian Parliament in Ukrainian. He was the very first politician to visit the frontline together with the president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. Radosław Sikorski (the current Polish Foreign Affairs Minister) did the same, and I am personally acquainted with him, - the editor said.

“The Government acts in a low key, it understands the farmers’ concerns and wills to resolve the problem alongside with winning elections”, - Polish journalist said.

“Two elections wait for us ahead, and the option is either lose elections or keep having problems at the border. I am certain that as soon as domestic issues in Poland are resolved, the next thing the government does will be to open borders and make its utmost to assist Ukraine, both politically and militarily”, - Mr. Sierakowski added.

The 16th Annual Kyiv Security Forum is held March 21-22, 2024, to gather transatlantic support for Ukraine. This year Forum slogan is “Ukraine’s call to the World: Together We Prevail!”.
