After the NATO Summit in June in the Hague (Netherlands), European countries must identify their security capabilities and gap therein, and formulate a clear action plan.
This message was stressed by Klaus Welle, Chairman of the Academic Council of the Wilfred Martens Center for European Studies, Secretary General of the European Parliament (2009-2022), at the 17th Annual Kyiv Security Forum “UA: UNITE AGAIN TO DEFEAT THE GLOBAL AGGRESSOR”, organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Foundation “Open Ukraine”.
“Let’s see what the outcome of the NATO summit in the Hague brings… This will be a decisive, pivotal moment…. I think we need a clear events schedule after the summit,” he said.

According to Secretary Welle, it is about Europe’s capabilities and identifying gaps and loopholes therein. “The US has always focused on satellites, logistics, and transportation. And these are the capabilities that we need to liaise individual NATO Allies and our industrial complex,” he said.
That is, according to Klaus Welle, Europe should focus on existing gaps and loopholes in strategic capabilities. “We have an understanding with Canada to replace US capabilities in terms of logistics,” added the former Secretary General of the European Parliament.
The Kyiv Security Forum, founded by Arseniy Yatsenyuk’s “Open Ukraine” foundation, is the main platform in this country to discuss problems of war and peace, national and world security.
