A Work by Victoria Amelina, a novelist who died in a Russian missile strike, was presented at 17th Annual Kyiv Security Forum

The work “Looking at Women Looking at War: a War and Justice Diary” - the final work of Victoria Amelina, Ukrainian novelist and human rights activist, who died in a Russian missile strike in 2023, was presented at the 17th Annual Kyiv Security Forum “UA: UNITE AGAIN TO DEFEAT THE GLOBAL AGGRESSOR”, organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Foundation “Open Ukraine”.

Amelina’s work, published posthumously, was presented as a sign of respect in the special tribute by Sasha Dovzhyk , writer and head of the INDEX: Institute for Documentation and Exchange.

Charlotte Higgins, chief cultural columnist, the Guardian (UK) added that Victoria had researched and written about war crimes.

We need to ensure accountability for war crimes - this is what Victoria fought for and lost her life for,” the columnist said.

The Kyiv Security Forum, organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk “Open Ukraine” foundation, is the main platform in Ukraine to discuss issues of war and peace, national and global security.
