Klympush-Tsintsadze: We must act as if the US security involvement is not there
09.05.25

EU member states and Ukraine must rely on their own forces in security matters in the European continent, as if the US involvement in this context is not there

Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, Chairwoman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Ukraine’s Integration to the European Union, shared her opinion at the 17th Annual Kyiv Security Forum “UA: UNITE AGAIN TO DEFEAT THE GLOBAL AGGRESSOR”, organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Foundation “Open Ukraine.

I think we all must act as if their (the US - ed.) presence, involvement is not there,” she said.

According to the MP, this is the basis to answer the question of how European countries and Ukraine should act.

Some time ago, the Ukrainian military said that although they see that Europeans have woken up, they remain in their pajamas and have not yet finished their coffee…. We still do not have a clear understanding of our joint actions,” Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze emphasized.

She summarized: “The values of prosperity, security, our ability to focus on everyday life issues cannot be taken for granted. Ukraine learned this hard way back in 2014… The question is: are we able to act together on both the domestic and foreign fronts?

The Kyiv Security Forum, organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk’s Open Ukraine Foundation, is the main platform in Ukraine to discuss issues of war and peace, national and global security.
