The new modern museum of the Holodomor-Genocide can become a site for a trial condemning the crimes of communism and russian fascism.
Such a proposal was voiced by Ivan Vasyunyk, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Holodomor Museum International Charitable Fund, at a special event of the Kyiv Security Forum, established by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Foundation “Open Ukraine”.
“Wars and genocides happen again and again because we fail to remember and punish the ones guilty in committed crimes. Unpunished evil returns, unconvicted crimes are repeated,” he emphasized.
Ivan Vasyunyk is convinced that the destruction of Ukrainian nation was and remains the main goal of russia.
He noted that recognizing the Holodomor as genocide by international partners of Ukraine is an important deed and expressed his gratitude to all countries taking this decision.
“Threats and jeopardies do not appear when and where an invader piles up its armadas of military equipment and manpower. Mortal danger of mass destruction of people becomes an imminent reality when fundamental human rights are violated by evil forces and this crime is sorely overlooked and ignored by the civilized part of humanity. Evil must be punished”, - emphasized the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Holodomor Museum International Charitable Fund.
“I have a big dream: soon enough, irrespective of the terms and forms of the end of this war, we unveil a new, modern, one of the best Holodomor museums in the world. And there is no better place than such a museum to hold an open, public, international trial over the crimes of communism and russian fascism. Evil must finally be punished,” he summarized.
The Kyiv Security Forum established by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk “Open Ukraine” Foundation, is the major platform in this country to discuss problems and issues of war and peace, of national and global security.
