russia’s war in Ukraine will be a long one.
This is what John Lough, Associate Fellow of Chatham House, Royal Institute of Foreign Affairs, emphasized at the 16th Annual Kyiv Security Forum established by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk “Open Ukraine” Foundation.
“We live in turbulent times of revolutionary upheavals. As in Shakespeare’s Hamlet “The time is out of joint”. And it’s a long-time before it is amended,” - Chatham House representative said.
According to him, there is a danger of a broader European war, if russia believes it is winning in Ukraine.
“Russian historian Sergey Medvedev stated that war has become the new normal for russian society. And while nuclear deterrent is working so far, russian war in Ukraine will last for long,” – John Lough believes.
The 16th Annual Kyiv Security Forum is held March 21-22, 2024, to gather transatlantic support for Ukraine. This year Forum slogan is “Ukraine’s call to the World: Together We Prevail!”.
