Europe should form a defense union capable of resisting aggressive policies of the US Administration and Russia.
Radan Kanev, European Parliament Member (Bulgaria) shared his vision at the 17th Annual Kyiv Security Forum “UA: UNITE AGAIN TO DEFEAT THE GLOBAL AGGRESSOR”, organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Foundation “Open Ukraine”.
“We need a defense union that can resist, first and foremost, the US “racketeering” and Russia’s aggression. There are some EU members that have not subscribed to this point of view yet and seem to be disinclined to do so in future”, - emphasized Radan Kanev.

He does not rule out the chance that Bulgaria may follow the lead of Slovakia and Hungary - then the question arises whether a defence unit for the entire EU can be formed.
“We see some signs of the Trump Administration behavior akin to the so-called “street racketeering” or “bullying”. What should we do? Will we resist? This is the questions, as some countries seem to be willing to make concessions. We are not behaving like Slovakia and Hungary, but our government wavers and tries to play double,” the MEP explained.
The Kyiv Security Forum, organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk’s Open Ukraine Foundation, is the main platform in Ukraine to discuss issues of war and peace, national and global security.
