The Chairman of the Kyiv Security Forum (KSF) and former Prime Minister of Ukraine (2014-2016), Arseniy Yatsenyuk, urged the German government to take decisive action and provide Ukraine with long-range Taurus missiles.

This was stated during meetings with German officials and parliamentarians representing the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) at the Berlin Security Conference, one of the world's leading security forums.
‘Putin wants to plunge Ukraine into darkness; he wants to freeze the country. We need decisive action from the German government to provide Taurus missiles, as Chancellor Merz promised during his election campaign,’ Yatsenyuk emphasised.
Roderich Kiesewetter, a member of the Bundestag and a staunch supporter of Ukraine, stressed the need to increase the level of German aid to Ukraine.
"More than 60% of Germans stand for continued support to Ukraine. However, Germany needs a stronger public diplomacy to explain the importance of assisting Ukraine," the German politician noted.
He added that Germany should be more decisive in its strategic approach, in terms of recognising that Ukraine must prevail. "Throughout its history, Germany has learned that it should be “never war again”. But to never have war again, we should never be defenceless," Ukraine's friend and partner Roderich Kiesewetter said.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk also met with Florian Hahn, Minister of State at the German Federal Foreign Office, representative of the CDU and friend of Ukraine. The minister also emphasised the need for comprehensive assistance to Ukraine. ‘We stand firmly on Ukraine’s side. Ukraine is always at the top of our agenda. Public support for Ukraine in Germany remains very strong,’ he stated.

According to the German MP, it is not only military aid that is crucial: ‘Military assistance for Ukraine is of great importance. However, civilian support is also extremely needed, especially now, given the state of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.’
Arseniy Yatsenyuk expressed his gratitude to the German allies for their support and solid commitment. He also underscored the need for a consistent approach. ‘Ukraine needs a sustainable and long-term support. This is exactly the message I will convey at the conference and during meetings with partners,’ he added.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk is visiting Berlin with the Kyiv Security Forum for a series of meetings with international partners and to participate in the Berlin Security Conference panel discussions.
The Berlin Security Conference, which takes place on 18-19 November, is one of the largest European security and defence policy forums. The event has been held annually since 2001 and has brought together participants from both the EU and non-EU countries, as well as representatives of European institutions and North Atlantic Treaty Organisation.
