Ukraine’s struggle is crucial not only for Ukraine, but also for the United States and the entire democratic world.

Glenn Corn, a former Senior Executive in the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, stated this during the discussion titled "UKRAINE'S UNBREAKABLE GENERATION: Reflections by General Petraeus – and What Washington Sees," organized by the KSF.

The foundation also organizes recognizes the significance of Ukraine's resistance, noting that recent global crises, particularly in the Middle East, have underscored Ukraine's importance as a partner for the U.S.

“I have been saying for two or three years now that we need Ukraine as a partner,” the ex-intelligence officer stressed.
He highlighted the significance of the information war, noting that the Kremlin has been systematically waging it for hundreds of years. Meanwhile, Ukraine and its allies must continually counter disinformation.

According to Corn, the key task is to explain the real situation in Ukraine to the American public and to debunk misleading narratives.

"When you explain things to people, they often change their minds. Americans strongly support Ukraine when they see the real picture," he emphasized.

He also commended the efforts of Ukrainian intelligence agencies, particularly the SSU and the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, highlighting their effectiveness in countering russia.
In his view, modern warfare is increasingly shifting toward technology, innovation, and rapid decision-making, which are areas where traditional bureaucracy often fails.
The former CIA officer stressed that Ukraine's current experience demonstrates an extraordinary ability to adapt in the context of an existential war.

“Ukrainians are doing what others are not because, for them, this is a war of survival,” he concluded.

Open Ukraine is an international foundation established by Arseniy Yatsenyuk in July 2007 to strengthen Ukraine's authority in the world. The foundation organizes the Kyiv Security Forum every year. This leading international discussion platform focuses on issues of war and peace. The foundation also organizes the Youth Kyiv Security Forum to develop a new generation of Ukrainian leaders.
