However, he emphasized, a member of the KSF Security Council, Commander of U.S. Central Command from 2008 to 2010, and Director of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency from 2011 to 2012, made this statement during the discussion titled "UKRAINE'S UNBREAKABLE GENERATION: Reflections by General Petraeus – and What Washington Sees" organized by the KSF.
"The front line is very static, with russian forces making little to no progress. Over the past two months, Ukrainians have regained more territory than the russians have seized," the General said.
He specifically highlighted the role of Ukrainian UAVs, recalling a visit to one of Ukraine’s largest drone manufacturers.
"This year alone, they produced three million drones out of the seven million that can be manufactured in Ukraine. That’s more than anywhere else in the world. The U.S. struggles to produce 400,000,” added the former CIA director.
Petraeus acknowledged that certain global priorities have shifted due to the conflict in the Middle East. However, he emphasized that what Ukraine has accomplished is an extraordinary achievement that absolutely deserves continued support, attention, and respect from countries that uphold the values and principles for which the Ukrainian people are fighting.
