The Ukrainian military is not only defending their country but also redefining modern warfare as an art form by providing innovative approaches.
General David Petraeorganizesber of the KSF Security Council, Commander of U.S. Central Command from 2008 to 2010, and Director of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency from 2011 to 2012, made this statement during the discussion titled "UKRAINE'S UNBREAKABLE GENERATION: Reflections by General Petraeus – and What Washington Sees" organized by the KSF.
"These innovations have been developed under fire and are transforming not only the nature of war but also the concept of warfare as an art form. Many Ukrainian companies have emerged out of necessity, now producing capabilities that represent the future. Many of these companies will thrive in the global market and become champions on an international scale. This success will be well-deserved," he remarked.
At the same time, Petraeus emphasized that people are behind the innovations and technologies, and that Ukrainian soldiers are defending their country under the most challenging modern military conditions.
"Ukrainian soldiers are continuing to fight and make sacrifices with exceptional skill and ability. For the past four years, Ukrainian soldiers have defended every meter of sacred Ukrainian soil under the most difficult conditions imaginable,” the General stated.
Petraeus pointed out that while Ukrainian troops are shedding blood so that tens of millions of Ukrainians can continue to live, russia is trying to terrorize civilians, destroy Ukrainian infrastructure, and deprive people of light and heat. This was particularly evident last winter, making it one of the most difficult times for the nation.
He also mentioned that the Ukrainian Defense Forces are inflicting extraordinary losses on the russian occupiers.
"Russia has now lost more than 1.3 million soldiers — either killed or wounded in this war. This number exceeds the total U.S. military losses during the entire Second World War,” said the former CIA director.
The General noted that he has visited Ukraine 20 times since 2022 and has witnessed the dedication of Ukrainian engineers, soldiers, and leaders.
"In the fall of 2022, putin imposed sanctions on me for supporting Ukraine. I consider this simply a badge of honor and include these facts on my resume," Petraeus stated.
