Ukrainians are real citizens who defend their willpower, while the Russian Federation is fighting with North Korean soldiers, convicts and mercenaries, Member of the National Assembly of France Frederic Petit argues. 

This was his chief message at the 17th Annual Kyiv Security Forum “UA: UNITE AGAIN TO DEFEAT THE GLOBAL AGGRESSOR”, organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Foundation “Open Ukraine”.

“Nations are created by citizens, and they exist because of genuine citizens. In a democracy, citizens defend their rights. If Ukrainians were not true citizens of their country, they would not take up arms to defend their willpower,” the MP noted. 

He emphasized that Russia is fighting with North Korean, conscripts, convicts and other population strata forced by various circumstance to take arms, or used hired-gun and mercenaries of all kinds.

“We see the difference between these approaches. And I do not want to live in a world that is defined by the language you speak or don’t,” said Frederic Petit, recalling that Europe speaks in 24 languages.

The Kyiv Security Forum, founded by Arseniy Yatsenyuk’s “Open Ukraine” foundation, is the major platform in Ukraine to discuss issues of war and peace, national and world security.
