In temporarily occupied territories it is ethnic cleansing and terror that affect people most, not russian propaganda.

These were ideas of Denys Kazanskyi, blogger, journalist, at the 10th Youth Kyiv Security Forum, organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk “Open Ukraine” Foundation.

“russians splurge on propaganda. They spend crazy heaps of money on propaganda, incomparable to funding propaganda in Ukraine. Nevertheless, there is a huge positive news for us in this direction – russian propaganda system is corrupt to the bone “, - he mentioned.

According to the journalist, the lion’s share of all funds is stolen in transit, and some 20% of total funds are used in the end.

“Our problem is that we do not have even the equivalent of the above-mentioned 20%,” – Mr Kazanskyi emphasized.

At the same time, it is not propaganda that plays the major role in temporarily occupied territories.

“The major pressure upon people in the occupied territories is not propaganda proper. Instead, it is what I call ethnic cleansing. In fact, russia’s engaged in ethnic cleansing, it conducts ethnocide policies,” – Denys Kazanskyi expressed his certainty.

According to him, all those who claim to be Ukrainians, no matter what language they speak, are driven out or physically annihilated. At the same time, many people cannot withstand scare and terror campaigns and have to leave their native lands that are occupied.
