Danylo Lubkivsky: Ukraine’s NATO membership will bring peace to Europe
01.11.24

Ukraine’s NATO membership will mean that a long-lasting peace can be enjoyed by all Europe.

This was the message of Danylo Lubkivsky, Director of the Kyiv Security Forum, at the 10th Youth Kyiv Security Forum.

“We live under threat of a mortal danger. Ukraine is democracy that had to become militarized. Hence, a rather cumbersome notion has appeared – a militarized democracy. We must be democracy that has to defend itself,” - he stated.

Director Lubkivsky also emphasized that our victory and our survival depend on our ability to defend ourselves.

“There are two major issues here. Ukraine’s NATO membership means ending this war. And it is Ukraine’s NATO membership that will mean ascertaining the long-term peace in Europe, and returning to civilized rules of international co-existence,” – he argued.

“Ukraine’s EU membership means our ability to become a successful, advanced, well-off, and free state,” – KSF Director underlined.

“Since 2007, from the moment when the Kyiv Security Forum was founded by Arseniy Yatsenyuk, the KSF Team remained one of the most devoted advocates of Ukraine’s NATO and the EU memberships. This is the dream we have, and it is to attain this dream that we hold these Forums,” - Danylo Lubkivsky summed up.

Youth Kyiv Security Forum is the leading platform to attract young leaders to discuss issues of national security and international relations agenda.
