Ukraine will not lose the war, but it is important to maintain momentum as we combat aggression and make a new technological leap. Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, made this statement during the 18th annual Kyiv Security Forum, which was held under the theme “Darkness or Dawn: Is Light Ahead?”
“Will we win this contest, this war? We definitely won’t lose. But I’ll say it again: if we stop or slow down, there are risks,” Budanov said.
At the same time, he added that, unfortunately, the Russians “are breaking their own records, but, fortunately for us, we are breaking ours — in terms of the quantity and types of equipment used.” However, he emphasized that this development is ongoing and that if certain technological progress is not made now, the effectiveness of these systems in achieving their objectives will decline exponentially.
The Lieutenant General also noted that both Ukraine and Russia are expanding their electronic warfare capabilities and military air defense systems (in particular, interceptor drones have appeared).
"We need a new technological leap — that is, artificial intelligence and new signal transmission technologies for control systems. With the current technologies, I believe both we and the Russians have already reached our maximum potential. Further growth is possible only in terms of quantity, but that will not solve the problem," said the Head of the Office of the President.
Kyiv Security Forum (KSF) is an annual international event launched in 2007 on the initiative of Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation.
