After the Ukrainian Defense Forces undermined Russian military power, it is important to remain proactive and create a collation of the strong political will instead of the coalition of the willing.

This was expressly emphasized by Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Chairman of the Kyiv Security Forum, Prime Minister of Ukraine (2014-2016) at the 17 th Annual Kyiv Security Forum “UA: UNITE AGAIN TO DEFEAT THE GLOBAL AGGRESSOR”.

“The Ukrainian military, with international support, have seriously undermined Russian military power. Putin will need a lot of time, according to some estimates - up to five years, to restore his military might. But he cannot attack NATO now. He will not have such an opportunity today, tomorrow, or even in a year. But we must act urgently, quickly. He believes that he will wait for us. No, we can and must overcome him and be more proactive. If we unite and demonstrate a strong political will. We will not create a coalition of the willing, but a coalition of the strong political will. And we must act as quickly as possible,” he summoned.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk reminded the audience those Russian losses amount to about a million killed and wounded, and “the economy is in a pitiful state.”

“I think that Putin is more terrified even by this truce, the ceasefire. He succeeded in putting his country on a war footing. And if the war stops, to him, to his government, huge problems present themselves, including to him personally - as the President,” the Forum Chairman added.

In Mr. Yatsenyuk opinion, Ukraine has gagged imperial ambitions of the Kremlin leader and “the time will come when Ukraine restores its territorial integrity.”

“The same thing happened to Germany. The same thing happened to the Baltic states. The same thing happened to Europe in general. There are no more occupation troops in Eastern Europe. The same righteous history will belong to Ukraine. But what can really affect Putin is force and force only. If you deploy your military here, it will be the only language of force he understands. If you send more weapons and munitions to Ukraine, he will understand. If you impose more sanctions of a tighter character against him, only then will he understand that people are dealing seriously with him,” Arseniy Yatsenyuk argued.
