Unfortunately, I'm not able to be physically together with you in Kyiv, but next time.Dear Ukrainians, rest assured, Finland stands firmly with Ukraine. Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion, Finland has provided political, humanitarian, economic and military support. And we will continue to do so for as long as needed.History has also taught us that international cooperation for peace is not a choice, but a necessity. I don’t expect any clear signal from the other side of the Atlantic,” Ivars Ijabs argued answering the question of whether Latvia can trust the US in the context of protecting its borders.According to him, the US President’s statement on Greenland “brings concern”. “From the Baltic countries’ perspective, we have an important transatlantic partner... we have done our utmost to be trusted as partners.... I think that the United States remains a very important partner and, I hope, will continue to remain such a strong partner”, - he emphasized.At the same time, according to MEP Ijabs, a “very delicate balancing act” is currently performed in the European Parliament. “On the one hand, we talk about European strategic autonomy... And on the other, there must be transatlantic connection”, - he concluded.The Kyiv Security Forum, organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk “Open Ukraine” Foundation, is the major platform in this country to discuss issues of war and peace, national and global security.
