Ukraine’s victory in the war, capitulation of the Kremlin’s boss and his liability for all crimes committed are only possible through unity of all international forces and a clearly designed plan.

This was the key message of Arseniy Yatsenyuk, the Kyiv Security Forum Founder,
Prime Minister of Ukraine in 2014-16 at the unveiling of the 17 th Annual Forum “UA: UNITE AGAIN TO DEFEAT THE GLOBAL AGGRESSOR”, May 8 in Kyiv.

“It was 80 years ago when the Nazi Germany was totally defeated, and Allies gained victory in the war. I believe the time will come when the Hitler of modern times, President Putin, capitulates. As well as all his inhuman ideology, all crimes
committed by him and his state. With his genocidal war that he started against my
country. The sole way we can attain victory is to unite again the way we did 80 years ago. And we shall be successful on this just road to reconstruction of the world order”, - he said.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk also mentioned that appeasement policies always lead to rampant aggression.

“I’d like to remind us that back in 1938 the whole free world was eager to sign pacts with Hitler. And to what result? Hitler started the Second World War. In 2014, after the modern Hitler illegally annexed Crimea and deployed his troops in Donetsk and Luhansk, the free world also willed to sign pacts with him. And to what result? In 2022 he started the massive aggression against Ukraine. So, no more appeasement policies. To attain peace, we need to demonstrate force”, - the Forum Founder stressed.

He also doubted the effect of gaining peace solely through diplomacy and diplomatic channels.

“I categorically disagree with this. I see no chance to arrive strike a peace deal with Russia solely through diplomatic channels. Diplomacy must be coupled with military might. This is the only language Putin understands”, - Arseniy Yatsenyuk argues.

He firmly believes that to stop the war, a clear and comprehensive plan must be
designed: “My address to the US Administration and to those willing to negotiate
with Putin. Indeed, Putin wants to negotiate with you, he’s even ready to play golf
with the US President. But he wills to play golf at his own hockey rink. So, what do
we need? We need a comprehensive, strong plan to bring back and ascertain peace. We cannot attain peace through compromises. Compromises only whet this beast’s appetite. We have already compromised many things, and we paid dearly for this with our own lives and our blood. This is our common battle. We are extremely grateful to the EU states, to the NATO Allies, to the US for all their support of Ukraine. If that would not have been the case, we would not have stood strong to retaliate”.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk also underlined the Ukraine’s role of remaining the real
stronghold of European and global security.

“We have demonstrated to the whole world that despite Russia being armed cap-a-pie and having such allies as China and other tyrants and dictators, despite Russia having nuclear armaments, we have strength, will and resilience to stand up and backlash the Russian military assault. We are wounded, but our will remains strong. We are tired, but not exhausted. And we remain certain that time will come when Ukraine and the whole free world prevail. And this is the core message and idea of this conference: unite again and prevail. Glory to Ukraine!” – the politician summed up.

The Kyiv Security Forum, organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk's Open Ukraine Foundation, is the main platform in this country for discussing issues of war and peace, national and global security.
